Remember the CALIBAR by Newtek? It was a great idea
ahead of its time, but it's no longer manufactured....and it cost upwards to $700! We
once sold this product, and we keep getting requests for it. So we decided to design
our own handheld version!

The PortaPattern by ItWorks
- Dozens of patterns and tests, in a Portable Tool! AVAILABLE NOW |
Our PortaPattern is a unique handheld
video testing device and a dedicated custom application of our popular NTSC Video
Reference CD and DVD. We've taken the best features of those programs, and combined it
with compact flash memory technology to create a portable Video Test and Multimedia
Reference generator. The PortaPattern uses an SD flash card to store and
playback video test patterns and MPEG video and audio files. You can add new patterns
you design by plugging in the SD card to any PC with a card reader and paint/graphics
program, or by using the USB port to transfer files directly.
The PortaPattern was conceived with input from a team of
Video Professionals including a former TV station Chief Engineer, and a multimedia
producer, the NTSC Reference Suite is a complete set of Video Reference Tools,
Measurement Aids, Video and Audio Tests, and multimedia content designed to help you
tune your NTSC or PAL Composite Video System to its full potential.
The extremely compact
PortaPattern has a built in easy to navigate onscreen user interface that requires no
learning curve.
